Nortel Unified Messaging Solutions

CallPilot is a Norten Unified Messaging solution. This software product features a graphical interface similar to an email application offering voice, fax messaging as well as email functionalities. The latest version, CallPilot 5.0 introduces several new features and functionalities focused on reducing total cost of ownership (TCO), improving the user experience and ease of use, increasing robustness and reliability, and providing additional messaging parity functionality to expand the addressable market.

The Nortel unified messaging Callpilot 5.0 is a virtual phone system that gives users access to email, faxes and voice mail from any touchtone phone, desktop PC e-mail client, browser-enabled PC, or mobile e-mail enabled device. There are lot of pbx systems, phone systems and conferencing solutions but Nortel provides a unified messaging solution with all the features you will need. This truly is unified messaging at its finest. Nortel is one of the leading companies in this industry so this fact shouldn't come as a big surprise. A key feature of Callpilot 5.0 is that it doesn't generate much LAN or WAN traffic, so your download/upload speed will not be affected by its operation. Since CallPilot is directly connected to the PBX, messages left and retrieved by phone have no impact on the data network. It also offers higher network availability as users can retrieve messages by phone even though the data network or e-mail server is unavailable.

This application can be installed on several different environments, such as Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise, Microsoft Outlook, Internet mail clients including Netscape and Qualcom Eudora Pro, Macintosh, Linux, and Citrix environments. The mobility packages enable users to access their email by phone (Text-To-Speech - TTS) and voice commands (Speech Activated Messaging - SAM) for hands-free access to messages. Users can scroll through their e-mail using spoken or touch pad commands, and listen to important e-mail. This is especially useful for workers who spend a lot of time away from the office.
